Ruth Hoyt Photography and Jessica Monroe Fine Art present, a small group workshop designed for nature lovers wanting to use photography, drawing and painting as tools to deeply engage with the natural world. All skill levels welcome! This workshop offers new approaches for both expert creatives and those with no previous experience.

Workshop includes:

Dinner Friday evening at the Alamo Inn B&B where Jessica and Ruth will give presentations. Participants are invited to bring their artwork to share with the group and get feedback on their work.

Saturday breakfast and lunch in the field with a full day of capturing photos and painting with optimal light; open creative time; sharing and reviewing what we have produced.

Participants have the option to continue Sunday morning for an additional fee.

Friday- 6pm-9pm, Saturday 7am-6pm, (optional) Sunday 7am-11am

Instructors:

Ruth Hoyt is a full-time professional nature photographer, writer, public speaker, workshop leader, coach, and consultant with 30-plus years of experience teaching nature photography. She is also a Certified Interpretive Guide (national certification) and Certified Texas Master Naturalist (certified annually through Texas Parks & Wildlife since 2009).

Jessica Monroe is best known for her large-scale oil paintings inspired by the natural world. Interested in using art as a means to bring awareness of environmental issues, her paintings are full of energy and movement, celebrating the beauty of her subject. For over twenty years, Monroe has exhibited her work throughout Texas and the Rio Grande Valley, and taught art to students of all ages.
