My backyard is filled with the bright yellow flowers of the Caesalpinia, light filters through, and the tree is heavy with the sound of gentle Mason Bees. I can sit in my hammock and look up to the trickling of light and color swaying in the wind. Caesalpinia, 18” x 24” oil on linen was inspired by this view, painted for the “Sacred Wisdom” exhibition at the San Benito Cultural Heritage Museum in 2019.
