One of my favorite things to do is wake up early and sit on the beach before most people are awake. The birds have the shore mostly to themselves and they run along the shore chased by the waves. This little Willet was taking a small break, the remnants of the last wave still shimmering at his feet.

“Little Willet” is a 16” x 20” oil painting on Birch and part of a series of work I developed that incorporates the texture of the woodgrain into the composition.
